Semar Pegulingan

Semar pegulingan is a court gamelan dating from the 17th century which is now scarcely performed due to the dominance of gong kebyar. It is noted for the sweetness of its seven-tone scale. The set we play, named Puja Semara Kanti, was brought to London by Ni Made Pujawati and is currently housed at SOAS.
