"Short Ride in a Fast Machine"

Prior to London Symphony Orchestra's John Adams Concert, Lila Cita plays Balinese gamelan version of his famous piece 'Short Ride in a Fast Machine'. Lila Cita premiered this arrangement by Symon Clarke 2 years ago at the same stage in front of John Adams himself. For the whole evening programme, please visit Barbican website.

Lila Cita's regular concert with Community Gamelan Group plus Lila Bhawa dance company. Programme includes British premiere of Genta Suri, a piece commemorating the indonesian struggle for independence, 'Short Ride in a Fast Machine' and Teruna Jaya with the mesmerising dance by Ni Made Pujawati.

Monday evenings

You can learn how to play gamelan with semara dana ensemble at weekly sessions of LSO St Luke's Community Gamelan Group. The group meets on Monday evenings during school term. Your first session is free. After that each session costs £5 (£3 concessions). For more information, please visit LSO St Luke's Discovery Programme.
